iTunes to launch European Video Service
Apple is planning to launch a video download service in europe come Spring. It is yet unknown which countries will be recieving the service, although it is likely that Luxembourg will recieve it as it will be the base of the operation.
Jeannot Krecke, Luxembourg’s economy minister old the Agence France-Presse that “Apple is going to extend its electronic retail activities in Luxembourg by launching this coming spring its iTunes video platform for the sale of videos in Europe.”
Krecke said Apple bosses have been in discussion “for several months” with Luxembourg authorities. The deal is pending official confirmation from Apple, he noted.
