itrips now legal to buy in the UK

Filed under: General News — James @ 10:46 am

We can confirm that Ofcom are now working with other regulators to draft an EU-wide standard on the use of a gadget which plays the output of Apple’s iPods on FM radios.

Germany and other EU members have recently made it legal to buy and use itrip’s in their country. This in turn means you can now legally buy an itrip in the UK although they are only mean’t to be used in Germany. Under EU law if a product is legal to use in an EU member state that means you can purchase it in any other EU country. Altough it is not strictly legal to use this in the UK at this time you can now purchase it without fear of Ofcom taking legal action against you.

The itrip is by far one of the biggest selling iPod accessories in the world. It is a simple and cheap way to play your music wirelessly through your car stereo.
