iPod is Irelands number 1 Gadget
The nationwide survey conducted for Discover Science & Engineering shows that Irish consumers are heavily reliant on technology and science and reveals the iPod as the most wanted gadget on Christmas wish lists. Around 99% of respondents owned a mobile phone; while 57% owned MP3 players, and 15% had Laptops.
The iPod was rated the most popular invention of recent times by 20% of those surveyed, the mobile phone was favoured by 13% of respondents and the Internet by 7%.
87% of those surveyed had digital cameras, while 54% were members of an online community such as MySpace, Bebo, Facebook or Boards.ie. The survey shows 88% had DVD players while 37% of respondents had plasma screen TV’s.
