French Judges approve bill to open iPod, iTunes

French lawmakers have yesterday voted to approve the “online music interoperability bill”.

This will force Apple to open the copy-protection used on tracks downloaded from iTunes and allow users to use other services other than iTunes to load songs onto their iPods.

The New law which also have tougher law’s for Music Pirates, it will also force Apple Computer Inc, Sony Corp and Microsoft Corp. to share proprietary anit-copy technologies so that consumers can offer rival services and players.
