The rumored delay of the next iPod Nano has caused an average of 10% drop of NAND flash chips prices. There is a price war between Hynix Semiconductor and Samsung Electronics which is pushing the price down even further.
Singer and Neighbours star Natalie Bassingthwaite has revealed her favourite iPod tracks in a recent interview with The Metro.

Her iPod is full to the brim with song and her favourites include, Bjork, Gnarls Barkley and Garbage.
Of the smash hit song Crazy, by Gnarls Barkley, she said: “I love this track because it’s different, you’ve had it out in Britain for ages, but it’s new here in Australia.
“It’s kind of old school, which I like.”
Mr Brightside by the Killers was another favourite of the glamorous Australian singer and actress, who said she put the track on before every gig she did.
Why Do You Love Me? by Garbage and Immortal by Evanescence were two more tracks which Ms Bassingthwaite said were iPod favourites.
In news that is being featured on many news sites, it is believed that Apple will be releasing an iPod that can talk in the very near future. This would be to keep user safer while using their iPods in the car. It is expected that they would use celebrity voices to say the track name and artist before each song in played.
Apple have decided that following the success of live music in its UK stores they would follow up in the US with a similar idea. Alien Ant Farm will be performing at the Apple retail store in Santa Monica on July 20th. Also Indie band The 88 will be live at Apples Grove store in LA on july 21st.
Gizmodo has today put up what are meant to be leaked pictures of Microsofts “iPod killer”. The Seattle Time journalist Brier Dudley claims the pictures are from a source very close to the product. The product could be the first in a long line of Xbox-branded digital media product. Other products that could be due for release are a media playing device, a software media player and an online media player. Brier Dudly says the project is being referred to internally at Microsoft by the code name “Argo.” Gizmodo, however, received a tip claiming that the Microsoft player was code-named “Zune” and said that it wasn’t likely to have gaming features. Meanwhile, Engadget scored the first purported photo of the device, which features a vertically oriented 4:3 aspect screen and iPod-like controls and styling.
iPod accessory manufactorer Speck Products have today announced a new range of iPod armbands named Active Sport for the iPod Video. The new Active Sport Armband is made of a breathable mesh material and features a neoprene enclosure and an adjustable Velcro strap. The ActiveSport Case is a light-weight case with caribeener clip. Available for the fifth-generation iPod and iPod nano, both products feature clear screen protectors and reflective material for better night-time visibility. The Active Sport Armband (£35) is available immediately, while the Active Sport basic case (£25) will ship later this month.
A teenager in the US is blaming his iPod for being struck by lightning while cutting the grass. Jason bunch says the current from the strick travelled down his headphone wires burning the side of his face.

American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu is predicting that the next iPod nano’s to be released will not be until just before Christmas. He believes the new iPod Nano could be built with a magnesium-based enclosure similar to the iPod mini. This will not be great to iPod accessory manufactorers who are doing really well from the iPod economy from making accessories for the Nano and Video due to them scratching so easily.
iPod accessory manufactorer Kensington has released the world’s first RDS FM transmitter for iPods.

The FM transmitter will allow an RDS car stereo to display the song and artist information. “Our research indicates that over 80% of all new cars being sold in the US include RDS enabled stereos,” notes Kensington. “RDS is a hugely popular feature and is quickly becoming mainstream. The new Kensington RDS FM Transmitter is the first to allow iPod consumers to take advantage of this exciting car stereo technology.” The device also features ClearFM technology, simultaneous charging of your iPod, three station pre-sets, and a black and brushed aluminum design. The Kensington RDS FM Transmitter will one iPod accessory that a lot of people will be selling their itrips to get it will be available this month for £70.
