itunes update now has Nike Support

Apple yesterday released a new iPod and iTunes software update which now adds support for the Nike + iPod kits and services. iPod updater 2006-06-28 brings Nike support for the iPod nano as well as volume limit features for the iPod Shuffle. It also has various bug fixes for current iPods. Apple said the iPod update includes iPod Software 1.1.2 for 5G iPods, iPod Software 1.2 for nanos, and iPod Software 1.1.4 for shuffles, but that it contains the same software versions as iPod Updater 2006-03-23 for all other models. The just-released update of iTunes, version 6.0.5, allows users to sync Nike + iPod workout data to nikeplus.com and track their progress.

Coca-Cola looking to team up with Apple for UK iTunes promo

Coca-Cola is looking to to sign a deal with Apple to use its iTunes music store to promote its brand. This would most likely be used to promote Coke’s new Coke Zero brand which has just launched in the UK. Coke has recently shut its mycokemusic site which was previously in direct competition with itunes music store although its downloads would not work with Apples iPod.

New Belkin Tunedeck

Belkin has announced the Belkin Tunedeck for iPod Nano.

The innovative and handy device plugs straight into a car’s tape player and allows users to stream music direct from their iPod nano to the vehicles stereo.

As well as powering and charging the iPod nano as it works, the TuneDeck also features inner magnetic and shake-proof design.

Belkin states: “Belkin is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of peripherals and connectivity solutions for computer and consumer electronics users.”

Set to launch next month, the TuneDeck is not yet listed on Belkin’s website, but will cost approximately £30.

Belkin make a range of iPod accessories, including cases, tuners, cable kits, dock connectors, cable organisers and more.

Founded in 1985 in Compton, California, Belkin now employs more than 1,200 people in offices in North America, Europe and Asia.

Sima Product’s Hitch Allows iPod To iPod Transfers

Sima Products have releaesed a product that allows USB transfer to portable devices without the use of a computer. Hitch will allow an iPod to transfer files to another iPod by connecting the two devices to it. This will launch in the US for $150 at the moment their is no confirmed UK release.

DLO announce iPod Nano FlipFolio case.

Digital Lifestyle Outfitters has announced the FlipFolio case for the iPod nano. The leather case features a reversible design that allows owners to wear their nano with the headphone port either on top or on the bottom of the case—“right-side up or up-side down.” The FlipFolio features a play-through clear plastic front, sewn-in belt clip, and comes in black, white and pink with contrasting stitching. The case is available now for $25.

Pacific Design announces NanoGo case

Pacific Design has announced the NanoGo, a new multipurpose case for the iPod nano. The $30 case features a carabiner clip, wristlet strap, integrated cord management, and a clear ID compartment and an additional area to store cash or credit cards. The NanoGo is made of leather-feel polyurethane (PU) material and comes in black with red detail and hot pink with white detail.
