The countries included are Argentina , Brazil , England , France , Germany , Italy , Mexico and USA . Sumo has also released a black and white Sumo referee case. New iPod Nano’s on the way, iPod Video delayed

An analyst from Piper Jaffray expects that Apple will release two new iPod Nano’s later this year. The expectations are that new higher capacity iPod’s will be released, most in the industry feel we will likely see an 8GB and 10GB model in early Autumn. This would be an ideal time to release them as it would take advantage of the strong seasonal shopping period.

It is now widely expected that the true iPod video will be delayed until next year once Apple have feature films and more video content available on iTunes.

Griffin release new PowerJolt car charger for iPods

Griffin Technology have today announced a new version of their very popular Powerjolt car charger. The new version will be solid black in colour, with black cables and will come with a free version of Griffin’s iFill software. The iFill software is a new version of software that loads Internet radio onto your iPod via itunes.

The Powerjolt will be available in the UK in the next 4-5 weeks and will have the same price point as the current model.

Apple is telling people to be aware of fake iPods

Apple have sent retailers a warning to look out for fake iPods that are starting to hit the market. Most of the fakes are very easy to spot but some do have very similar designs that some people could mistake for a real iPod. If you have any pictures of fake iPods feel free to post them below.

iTunes may launching a system so you can sell your home movies

The Onion reports that iTunes will sell your home movies for $1.99. The movies will come in their original format save for an Apple logo in the bottom right-hand corner. All you need is broadband, two bucks and a sense of humor. This could be a huge market for Apple as it would allow consumers to easily distribute home movies to family and relatives.

iPod users go Ape Kong style

iPod users up and down the UK are beating their chests with excitement T3 are giving away free download clips from its Peter Jackson’s King Kong site.

The offer is to coincide with the movie’s release on DVD this week, there are four action packed clips that are available to download.

Monkey maniacs can buy the DVD now for £25 in high streets, or tempt themselves with the free downloads available at the T3 website now.

Creative slash prices to compete with Ipod

Creative has slashed prices on its mp3 players in a new attempt to gain market share away from Apples iPod. They have dropped the price of the 8GB Zen MicroPhoto to £149.99 down from £179.99. The new price is now £30 cheaper than a 4GB ipod Nano.

This may give Creative a greater chance of gaining customers who would like an MP3 player but do not want to use an iPod.

DryPod waterproof case for the iPod Video

SKB has introduced a new case for the iPod Video and olders iPods called the DryPod. The case is a hard plastic shell that is watertight and allows the user to use their iPod while working in the rain or in the sea. How you will waterproof your headphones is another problem we see there could be with this case. However it will be just the product that active types will be looking to use. The case is due for release in the next couple of months and we will have details as soon as they are released.

Logitech announce mm32 speakers for iPod

Logitech has today released details on their soon to be released mm32 portable iPod Speakers. The speakers will have a cylinder-shaped design with an adjustable iPod cradle, and neodymium quad micro drivers that deliver “surprisingly high-quality sound for their size,” according to the company. “The sleek, affordable speaker system that delivers dynamic sound quality and works with any MP3 player or iPod with a standard headphone jack.” The speakers will be available beginning this next month in the UK and will around £65.

iPod continues to be dominant player among teens

Apple is still gaining market share according to new research, according to Piper Jaffrays half yearly teen survey 77% of students who own an MP3 player have an iPod. This is amazing and is up from 74% last autumn. Online Music sales are also up with 71% of teens saying they regularly use the iTunes music store. Its not surprising to see Apple being the dominant force in the MP3 market but it is a surprise to see they have taken a larger market share in the face of tougher competition.
