Logitech has announced a new black version of its portable MM50 iPod speakers to compliment the black iPod nano and iPod video.

The speakers are the same as the white mm50 speakers in other respects, with a wireless remote for controlling volume and other functions and an optional rechargeable battery with a life of up to ten hours.

Shipping from April this year, the iPod speakers will join Logitech’s new headphones with the company’s patented SilentSound technology for cancelling out background noise.

iPod users want to immerse themselves in their music or videos, and these headphones claim to cancel out as much as 92 per cent of distracting sounds.

This would include an office fan or air conditioning system – and even a jet engine.

iLuv have announced several new iPod products, they include three new speaker systems, an FM transmitter, a power adapter and an external battery pack. iLuv are relatively new in the iPod accessory market but these product could make them a really strong contender.

This is about the same size as an Airplay 2, one downside we can see is that is does have an installation CD similar to the 2nd Gen itrip. This will not suit some iPod users who like the plug and play of the itrip and airplay.

This looks like an excellent product very similar to the ihome speaker system we showed last week. Finally people are bringing out products that have a radio built in as well.
