Apple has recently started contacting companies that are using the term “podcast.” without permission. Wired News reports that Apple has been sending Podcast Ready Cease and desist letters claiming that the term “Podcast Ready” and “myPodder” infringe on Apple trademarks. Apple claims that the two terms could cause confusion among consumers. This is not the first time apple have sent these letters our sister site www.easyishop.co.uk had to change its name earlier in the year from www.easyipod.co.uk due to Apple clamping down on the term iPod.
